The Battle for Paris, 1944

Part 1, The Uprising

A premature armed uprising by the French resistance in Paris sets into a motion a series of events, including a crazed order from Adolf Hitler to destroy the city. With no time to lose, Allied forces in Normandy move to liberate the capital.

Part 2, The Carnage

Forced to advance, driven by glory and ambition, Allied combat units surge towards the city of light. At the forefront is the 2nd Free French Armored Division (a largely green but motivated unit) whose orders are to secure the city and prevent the Germans from causing a bloodbath.

Part 3, Liberation

A fierce battle erupts in the city as the 2nd Free French and the US 4th Infantry Divisions move to secure key areas. Among the allied forces are the writers, Ernest Hemingway and J D Salinger. Even the heat of combat cannot sway exultant mobs from embracing Allied troops as only a once-subjugated population can.
